Thanks for Your Interest in Hosting a Film Screening to Help Restore Louisiana's Coast
This Katrinaversary, Saturday August 29th, we hope you will join hosts across the country in reminding the nation & our leaders that Louisiana's coast & communities have not recovered from the devastating hurricanes from 2005 and 2008. As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers readies an insufficient plan for "category 5" protection for our region, it's clear that the federal response to Katrina has been inadequate. You can help call on Congress and the White House to develop a plan that will address our coastal wetlands crisis while coordinating federal agencies to implement the coastal lines of defense strategy to protect our nation's energy, shipping, seafood and culture.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU HOST A SCREENING
Hosting a film screening on the Katrina Anniversary can be as easy as gathering a few friends, family, neighbors and other GRN supporters at your home.You can also organize a screening at a community center, a meeting of a supporting organization, or even at a local theater. It's up to you.
We'll provide you with tools to make it a success, such as our easy-to-use e-vite system to invite friends and family over for the gathering. Then, a few days before your party, we'll send you a package that includes:

A Fact sheet outlining why Louisiana's Coast and communities are in jeopardy and what must be done to help protect and restore the region.
Postcards to your Senator for your guests to fill out, asking for action for Louisiana's coastal wetlands
"Rediscover New Orleans" raffle tickets to help fund the GRN and these events.
When your event is over, we'll ask you to send us a photo of the event and return any remaining materials back to us in a self-addressed stamped envelope that we will provide to you.
