Host a Defend the Gulf Movie Screening for the 5th Anniversary of Katrina
BP’s oil drilling disaster has been wreaking havoc on the Gulf Coast for months, and an already fragile ecosystem is now inundated with oil. To mark the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and help the Gulf's people and environment, hosts around the country are organizing film screenings of the powerful GRN "Defend the Gulf Video Series". Watch a trailer on the right, then use the form below to register as an event host.
For years the fishing industry, coastal cultures and unique wildlife of Louisiana’s coast have been affected by the loss of a football field’s worth of wetlands every 45 minutes. Now, the Gulf Coast is experiencing the biggest environmental disaster our country has ever seen, and we need your help to make sure that the Gulf is restored, our communities are made whole, and that this can never happen again. The federal government must do more, and BP must be held accountable. By organizing an event at your home, church, local bar, or other venue, you can help educate and mobilize the country to help save the Gulf.
Hosting an event is easy, and we'll guide you through the process. From gathering a few friends in your home to having hundreds of people at a local theater, you're in control of your screening. Once you sign up, we'll follow up with more instructions, materials, support, and all the tools you'll need to make it a success. To begin, you'll have our easy-to-use e-vite system to invite your friends and family over for the gathering. They'll be conference calls to discuss steps to take, and a GRN rep will always be available to answer any questions. Then, a few days before your party, we'll send a package with the DVD, talking points, step-by-step instructions, and tons of other materials and goodies.
Please sign up below to host a movie screening to help us sound the urgent call for a national commitment to restoring the Gulf.
