Comprehensive Privacy Policy

Comprehensive Privacy Policy

Gulf Restoration Network (GRN) respects the privacy of our online users, supporters, and members; and our Comprehensive Privacy Policy is in place to honor your rights.

General Collection and Use of Personal Information

GRN collects and uses personal information such as name, address, phone number, and e-mail address when voluntarily provided to the organization.

GRN does NOT sell, trade, or share its donor list with any other organization.

We will never share your information beyond the intended recipients of the online actions in which you participate. Comments delivered to decision-makers through our online actions include the information you enter on the form, and no other sharing occurs.

GRN stores your information in order to keep you up-to-date and involved with our efforts to protect and restore the Gulf. Email communication is comprised of periodic action alerts and our bi-weekly e-newsletter, Gulf Waves. You may opt out of receiving email from us at any time. Members also receive our mailed newsletter, Gulf Currents, and periodic postal correspondence, and you may also opt out of receiving those publications.

In addition, GRN keeps a record of each donor's giving history. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by the Development Department to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more accurate budget projections.

Security

Every employee at GRN has a personal password for their computer. Donor information is kept on a separate encrypted database on a dedicated server that requires an additional password to access. Only personnel that are directly involved with handling donor information have access to this server.
